This site is dedicated to the memory of Cory Hernandez.

Cory Anthony Hernandez, our beloved little “pineapple head”, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 24, 1985.  From the start he showed his gentle, sensitive spirit; a quick and clever sense of humor, and just frequently enough to be endearing, a lively glint of mischief.

From a very young age, Cory loved books and spent many hours happily “exploring” while nestled in a corner deeply ensconced between the pages.  Besides his adventures within the pages of his numerous, treasured books, he traveled extensively visiting destinations both near (within the USA) and as far away as Africa and Central America.  On these trips, Cory combined his curiosity, spirituality, and compassionate nature to contribute everywhere he went touching so many lives with his missionary services.

Cory was extremely creative and used food as one medium.  He spent many hours testing and trying different food combinations until he developed a dish that was just right.  Although he was humble about it, he could and did make everything, from baking breads and pastries to cooking savory dishes, many of which earned awards and were featured in promotional materials.

During his lifetime, he proudly called both Costa Mesa, California and Portland, Oregon home.  There and many other places where loved ones reside he is deeply mourned.

Cory passing leaves behind an unfillable chasm.  Forever cherished by his dad and stepmom, Keith and Debbie Hernandez; sisters Vanessa Hernandez, Tina Svoronos(Dennis), and Kassandra Hernandez; nephew Lucca Dioguardi; grandmother Julie Hernandez; Aunt Kelly Hernandez, Uncle Darren and Aunt Sharon Hernandez, Aunt Joni Peterka; cousin Sky Peterka (Karen Carleton); and many other family and friends; Cory lives on in our hearts.

We love you Cory.
